Default Back from the SVT Meet in Germany - Pics here

Just got back from the 5th Annual Euro SVT Meet in Germany late last night and we had a great time as usual.
The beer was flowing, the company was great, the BBQ was tasty, weather was Scorchio and the tyres got a hammering.
This was a 1500 mile round trip for us and it was nice to be able to give the truck a good muck out on the Autobahns after the winter lay up. I swear its running better now than when we started after giving it a bit of load

Anyhoo, on to the evidence. You'd better go and make a cup of tea now, there's lots of stuff.

At the Eurotunnel waiting for the train. It was pretty empty really and a piece of piss for getting over there. Very efficient.

If you ever decide to do this, make sure you book in as a Motorhome or van and you'll get plenty of room. If you book as a car, it's a double decker carriage and scarily tight for a truck.

A quick stop off for some cheap beer and baccy at the Hypermarket in Calais.

Spotted this in the car park. You have to be careful how you name your company.

Then orf we jolly well go.

Last year, a certain person who shall remain nameless moaned about the exhaust all the way there and wouldn't STFU.
This year, noise cancelling headphones meant I only had to listen to the blower whine.

We passed by the spiritual home of all Chevy owners.

Got to Hanover eventually. Mrs Andre is having a baby anytime now or he would be over for Shakey. Everyone took baby gifts.

Once that was cleared, his truck was looking good as ever.

A quick Saturday morning trip into Garbsen before the show. It's the Euro elections next week.
Vote Balz. You know it makes sense.

Elvis was in the building

Saturday Show & Shine. Your hero was representing.

The NLOC/NHTOC were one of the sponsors of the event so BigD flew in from Dallas for the weekend.

A few of the motors.

Matty the Ford Freak was there

Fares and Sophia flew in from Dubai. He has 2 built Lightnings over there.

26" wheels on a Dutch L

DSG was a popular colour this year

Then it was off on a cruise to a local diner. Video to follow later.

At the Diner

The guy who owned the diner said that seeing as there was a bit of a crowd, we could hold our Eurovision burnout contest there. Heh! Bet he won't do that again.
The smell of burnt rubber should be gone in a few months.

First contender, Andre from Germany

Not too shabby so on to the next hero, Hardy from Switzerland.

Much better and finally, representing the UK, Me.

This is not just a burnout

This is a Rebel V8 Burnout

Warming up nicely now

It looked like this inside the Diner as well apparently

So Andre decides to borrow Marc's Shelby for a go

A few RPM

And there's the smoke. Unfortunately, it's the clutch

Yep, that's fecked

Me and Hardy survey the damage

Anyway, that brickweave should scrub up ok. Probably

So I relax with a post burn out tab and perv session

Then it's time for a sharp exit and back to the BBQ & Beer

Back at Andre's place, Fares puts me to shame by showing me how to treat his hire car

After this, basically every warning light you can think of was showing on the dash display.
Do not pass Go. Do not collect Hire Car deposit. Call your nearest Merc dealer to send a flat bed. Etc.

Ladies & Gentlemen, the 2009 Burnout King, Fares from Dubai. A worthy winner.

Sunday morning and a quick top up as we are off to Hamburg for the Street Magazine Show.

The truck luuurrrrves this stuff

The show ground in Hamburg. It's a busy day again

Mad

Even Madder

Lots of Fail happening here

But then some Win

Posh Spice was there in her Fox

Chrometastic

Proper truck

Whoohoo. There's that girl with the short skirt getting on the stage. This should be good. Get to the front.

She's turning round

Oh !!!

Hmmmm

Er, yeah

Right

Hang on, there's a fat bloke been invited up there as well

Tell us all about tyour truck then. In German.

Now feck off

Hello. Somebody has won a trophy

Back in line to get on stage again for the presentation

Last time they said "Das Burnout Is Verbotten"

But my foot slipped a bit.

I narrowly avoided a Dukes Of Hazzard Stylee jump

To collect the Long Distance Award

Yay. Winner baby

So that was that for the Euro Meet.

On the way back, we stopped in Bruges for the day. Sally likes it there.
Bruges is famous for its medieval architecture.

And it's varied and interesting shops

Also famous for Belgian Chocolate. I bought you all a bag of Clitoris Allsorts.

Back on the train. That's another one over.. Roll on 2010.

No, didn't laugh about the clutch and felt bad for Andre as Marc was egging him on to do it for the video.
That's a 3 1/2 grand job in the States so feck knows what it will cost in Germany.
